Biography

Yakovlev went pro in 1999 for Besson Chaussures. After two seasons he moved to Acqua & Sapone, then Telekom, where he stayed through 2005. Then, he followed fellow Kazakh Alexander Vinokourov to Liberty Seguros-Würth team, which is now Astana.
