Switzerland’s BMC Bicycles and Cadence Performance and Multi-Sport Centers of Philadelphia and New York have joined the MAC Cyclocross Series as Official Partner of the 2008 MAC season, starting with opening weekend on September 20 and 21.
“BMC is proud to be a part of the MAC series,” said Derrick Lewis of BMC North America. “We are honored to help promote racing on all levels and more importantly the MAC series. As a premier organization, MAC is major part of the growth of cyclocross in the U.S., and it is organizations like this that help BMC to share the joy of cycling at all levels.”
As the “Official Bike of the MAC”, racers and spectators will have the opportunity to test ride BMC bikes at every MAC Cyclocross Series event in 2008.
Cadence Performance and Multi-Sport Centers will also be joining MAC as the series’ “Official Coaching and Training Partner”. Cadence Performance Centers are recognized leaders in coaching, physiological testing, power based training, and bike fitting for both cyclists and triathletes, having worked with professional teams such as Discovery, CSC, Rite-Aid, Bissell, Symmetrics, and Toyota United among others. They are also the Official Coaching and Training Organization for the United States Marine Corps' All-Marine Running and Triathlon Teams.
Cadence staff members will be available to answer questions at the Cadence Performance Centers warm-up tent at every race powered by CycleOps. New to the MAC this year is the “Cadence Power Production Competition”, where amateur riders who compete with a power meter will be able to upload power files to the Cadence coaches after the race. These files will be analyzed and each week a particular performance will be highlighted on the Cadence Blog. Interested riders can visit the Cadence website for more information or stop by the Cadence warm-up tent this weekend. Throughout the season the best performances will be tracked and an award presented to the winner at MAC award banquet.
“Cadence is very pleased to be back with the MAC brotherhood and sisterhood in 2008 and to be able to bring Cadence, BMC and the MAC together” said coach Mike Kuhn. “We’re excited to help foster the growth of ‘cross in the mid-Atlantic with on-site instruction from our coaches and continuing advancements in specific and scientific training for ‘cross and can’t wait for the MAC season to get started!”
